The Sacral Gate Theme
The Sacral Gate is the first checkpoint in the Substrate—where “home” either exists or it doesn’t. In Book 1, safety is treated as a resource, belonging as a privilege, and the body as evidence. The Porch disrupts that logic with something simple: permission to dwell. The story follows what happens when a system designed for extraction encounters a place built for recovery.
